26 November 2014. Up to Doi Pui

I made a reasonably early start in order to get to Doi Pui today, having left it all a bit late on Monday. I teamed up with a couple of girls from Shanghai to commission a songtheaw from Doi Suthep. It proved to be quite a long way to the entrance to the park where he dropped us off to walk the 2-3 km to the summit - a peaceful walk along a small road - apart from the final few hundred yards to the summit board.

We then carried on to a Hmong village which proved far less (in fact not at all) of a tourist milking exercise, compared with those around Sapa in Vietnam. Apart from a poor dog that was literally on its last legs, the village seemed in good shape.

We then headed down to Bhuping Palace (which had closed), before parting company at Doi Suthep. It was a nice day out and interesting to meet these very modern Chinese people with their great English skills.
