7 December 2014. Hor Phra Keo

I ambled down the road to Hor Phra Keo, admiring the buildings in the sunlight. The only difficulty is photographing them with the spaghetti of electricity cables running down the road.

My destination is an important building had been closed the past two days. It was originally 16th century but raised to the ground like so many others in the early 19th. At one stage it housed the Emerald Buddha which has been everywhere I've been on this holiday so far.

The temple is beautiful in its detail, even though these are not particularly old. It had a reasonable but not overwhelming number of visitors as well as the wedding picture-takers.

After this visit, I walked down the Mekong on a lovely sunny morning.

Then, in the evening I went back to the river to see the night market being set up and to see the sunset and outdoor aerobics.
